Quetta Gladiators Team, Players, Owner and Squad 2019

In December 2015 The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the proprietors of all five city-based franchises for the inaugural season the Pakistan Super League.  Quetta Gladiators has been sold to the Karachi-established company Omar Associates for US$11 Million.         

Team Quetta Gladiators the is regarded as the most destructive team of Pakistan Super League PSL. The team is nominally based in Quetta, the provincial capital of BalochistanPakistan. The  Quetta Gladiators franchise established in 2015. The owner is Omar Associates. Team’s Home-ground is Ayub National Stadium. Now fans are waiting for Quetta Gladiators to win the title this time.

THE TEAM INSIGHTS

The Pakistani skipper Sarfraz Ahmed is leading the PSL 2019 Quetta Gladiators Squad. Trainer of the team is former Pakistani wicket-keeper Moin Khan. However, Windies legend Viv Richards is team’s mentor. Azam Khan is the team’s director. Abdul Razzaq is team’s Assistant Trainer.

The Popular Franchise Quetta Gladiators began their 2016 effort with Comfortable wins Islamabad United along with Karachi Kings before edging beyond Peshawar Zalmi at a tightly fought match.  A loss from Lahore Qalanders was followed with a huge win over Islamabad where New Zealand all-rounder Grant Elliott, who’d just joined the group, established instrumental in the win since he took three key wickets to restrict United into 117. 

Past Performances

The victory against Karachi saw Gladiators verified their place for play-off 2016 season. However, Quetta ended 2nd in The PSL table supporting Peshawar, winning six of their eight games. In the first qualifier game, Quetta defeated Peshawar by a single run. This was a sizzling match. The Gladiators scoring 133 thanks to a score of 53 by Kevin Pietersen and 37 by Kumar Sangakkara. 

However, In reply Peshawar scored 132 after shooting the match to the previous ball. This triumph qualified Quetta for the final in which they lost to Islamabad by six wickets, posting a total of 174/7 with scores of 64 by Ahmed Shehzad and 55 by SangakkaraAhmed Shehzad ended As the group’s leading run scorer with 290 runs, whilst Mohammad Nawaz took with 13 wickets are the major wicket-taker for the group.

SEASON 2 PSL 2017

Terms of 2017 season, Kumar Sangakkara along with Grant Elliott were Released by Quetta just a few days prior to the PSL transfer window came to an end in September 2016. Quetta retained 10 Players in advance of this 2017 Pakistan Super League players draft and signed eight throughout the draft. However, of these only Tymal Mills will be joining the group as the other players have been inaccessible.

Mahmudullah Riad along with Rilee Rossouw joined the team as a replacement for Mohammad Nabi. However, David Willey Whilst Nathan McCullum along with Thisara Perera substituted Rovman Powell and Carlos Brathwaite. A number of reasons have compelled the modifications. The 2nd match was against Peshawar Zalmi, the game was abandoned due to showers. Both teams shared the things from the bout.

Continuing the effort, Gladiators successfully chased down 201 from the Lahore Qalandars. This was a stunner in the numbers. Also regarded as match of the tournament. Kevin Pieterson and Sarfaraz Ahmad were instrumental from the chase via a 101-run partnership. KP struck 88 from 42 balls – including 8 sixes, since the Gladiators plundered 78 runs out of the last 3.5 overs to seal the game.

TRANSITION TO DUBAI

As the championship Switched back into Dubai, the Gladiators continued their winning streak by defeating Karachi Kings by 6-wickets. The group’s pursuit of 155 has been commandeered by a 105-run opening venture involving Ahmad Shahzad 54(40) and Asad Shafiq 45(33) – the highest of this variant’s PSL.

Requiring, seven runs in the last two overs, the group fell short with 1 fold. In the next match, the Gladiators could just manage a below-par rating of 128 batting first. On the other hand, the group fielded and bowled quite well to have the chasing Zalmis decrease to 52-6 until Shahid Afridi chose his group home with 2-wickets to spare.

At the closing, Gladiators – the runners-up of this inaugural edition of this PSL, lost to Peshawar Zalmi by 58 runs batting second. In the first innings, Rayad Emrit took 2 wickets at the 17th over, that left the score 112 for 6 but Darren Sammy clubbed 33 runs in the previous two overs carrying the Zalmis total to 148.
