Peshawar Zalmi: 153/8 (20 Overs)
Karachi Kings: 109/9 (20 overs, target 154)
The 9th match of PSL 2019 was played between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings on 21st February 2019 at 9:00 pm at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to field first. Peshawar Zalmi scored a total of 153 for 8 wickets after playing the complete course of 20 overs. The opener Imam-ul-Haq remained the top scorer where he scored 56 just in 43 balls. Winning the toss and then choosing to field first has never proved vital for Karachi Kings due to the inexperience of their team while chasing down the totals.
Hassan Ali, a key bowler of Peshawar was able to manage a breakthrough at the first ball of the innings. Also, he took rid out Karachi King’s key batsman Babar Azam by a runout which proved to be the turning point of the match. These two wickets were enough to bring the morale down of the chasing side.
Imam remained the top scorer of the match who scored 56 of 43 balls while hitting 5 boundaries and 1 sixes. LA Dawson was the second highest scorer with his 43 runs.
Karachi Kings have got a bad history when it comes to chasing. However, Imad Waseem, the captain of Kings still chose to field first after winning the toss and it took the team down pretty bad.
